A hometown morning tradition
Right in the heart of downtown Berne on East Main Street, next to Dollar General, the Alpine Rose has been the region's go-to coffee destination since 2008, serving Adams, Wells, Jay, and Monroe counties. It's the kind of place where the staff learns your order, quilts hang on the walls, and there's a Coffee of the Day chalked up every morning (think White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle) alongside a rotating food special.
What to order
The drink board covers lattes, mochas, chai, frappes, hot chocolate, and a long list of flavor shots. On the food side: hearty breakfast sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, chicken salad, and pastries, with seasonal specialties throughout the year. Gluten-free eaters are well cared for — gluten-free wraps and English muffins are stocked regularly, with occasional gluten-free treats too.
More than coffee
Dine in among the quilts, grab carryout, sit outside when the weather's nice, or get it delivered through DoorDash. They also cater — locals book them for showers and events with cupcakes, chicken salad, and fruit and veggie trays. The shop carries consignment goods from local makers as well, so you can take a little piece of Berne home. Checks, all major cards, and mobile payments accepted.
