A few minutes south of Berne, nestled among rolling meadows on the banks of the Wabash River, Amishville USA is where visitors come to unplug. The campground sits in the heart of Amish farm country — you'll share the roads with horse-drawn buggies — and families have been coming back here for generations. The current owners are actively improving the grounds, and reviewers consistently call it clean, safe, and genuinely friendly.
Steeped in Amish country
The campground sits right in the middle of one of Indiana's Amish communities, and the setting is the attraction: buggies clip-clopping past, farmland in every direction, and the kind of quiet you can't find near a highway. Feed the animals in the barn, browse the gift shop for Amish baked goods, and watch a slower way of life roll by from your campsite.
Camping & weekend fun
Choose from full-hookup RV sites (20 to 50 amp) or primitive tent sites in the wooded area at the end of the lane, with rates running roughly $16–$33 a night. Weekends are packed: swimming and fishing ponds, playgrounds, hay rides, crafts for kids, basketball and volleyball, bingo every Saturday, and the famous free kettle corn and caramel corn made fresh over the fire.
Events all season
Amishville is known for its events — antique and pedal tractor shows with food vendors, tractor pulls, poker runs, DJ and karaoke nights, holiday raffles, and fireworks that beat most towns'. Check their Facebook page for the current calendar before your visit.
Pair it with a meal in Berne
Camping makes you hungry, and Berne is only a few minutes north. Start the morning with coffee in town, spend the day at the campground, then come back for dinner at one of Berne's nine local eateries — and don't skip a cone at Grandma Stutzman's on your way back to the campfire.
