The everybody-knows-it spot
Berne Dining is the town's classic family restaurant on US 27 South — the place packed with the after-church crowd on Sundays and the early-riser crowd every weekday, where the locals talk high school football over coffee. Breakfast is served all day, portions are generous, and prices stay friendly. It's been run by owner Safet Veseli since 2012.
What to order
On the breakfast side, the caramel banana French toast has a devoted following, along with biscuits and gravy, Denver omelets with hashbrowns, and steak skillets. The rest of the day brings burgers, reubens, taco salad, lasagna, breaded pork tenderloins, and home-style dinners, with daily specials and a fresh soup and salad bar. The weekend buffet — Friday and Saturday evenings plus Sunday midday — draws crowds for its rotating spread (the BBQ ribs get special mention).
Good to know
There's space for large groups, outdoor seating, and it's handicap accessible. For special occasions, call ahead for reservations — and note they're closed Mondays.
